Is Direct Send CAN-SPAM compliant?

Yes. Every email generated for Direct Send includes a compliant footer with sender address and unsubscribe language, appended automatically at generation time.

Why would I use Direct Send instead of connecting my inbox?

Some reps aren't ready to grant OAuth access to their inbox, work in a regulated industry with IT restrictions, or simply want manual control before their first send. Direct Send is available on every plan for exactly that reason.
